India has knowledgeable transformation through the regime of regulated financial development to competitive routine since the liberalisations of 1991. The main drive of these liberalisations has been upon industrial delicensing and visibility, that is, import liberalisation and removing limitations to exports for increasing growth. Through this paper, an effort has been designed to analyze the effect of monetary liberalisations on pattern of sources of growth of output of Indian production industry coming from a demand aspect perspective. The analysis have been based on Chenery's factor decomposition approach based on input-output structure. It decomposes output growth into its several sources: home-based demand growth, export growth, import alternative and more advanced demand expansion due to enhancements made on input-output coefficient. The basic data used for this study has been the input-output dining tables for 1983-84, 1989-90 and 1997-98. The analysis has become done independently for the pre-liberalisation period, 1983-84 to 1989-90, and the post-liberalisation period, 1989-90 to 1997-98, to measure the changing pattern inside the sources of regarding output as a result of policy liberalisation and structural reforms during the 1990's. The nominal values of the variables have been deflated. The study discovered that output growth that manufactures industry has been mainly motivated by home-based demand development followed by contribution of foreign trade expansion during both pre-liberalisation as well as post-liberalisation period, yet after liberalisation the contribution of both domestic demand expansion and export expansion has increased. Even more, contribution of both importance substitution and intermediate demand expansion to output growth, which has been confident before liberalisation, has become unfavorable. At disaggregated level of industrial sectors, there has been extensive similarity which includes exceptions in pattern of sources of regarding output.
